Family Dinner & Prayer: A New Year, a New Road
“In the name of the Father, and of the Son…”
Read:
On entering the house they saw the child with Mary his mother. They prostrated themselves and did him homage. Then they opened their treasures and offered him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh. And having been warned in a dream not to return to Herod, they departed for their country by another way.
Matthew 2:11-12
The magi found the Savior of the world, the light of revelation to the nations! When they found him, they worshipped him, and offered him everything they had. When they returned home, they went by a new road, a new way. As Archbishop Fulton Sheen said more than 50 years ago, “Of course they [chose a new road]! No one comes to Christ and goes back the same way he came!”
Discuss: When I think about everything Christ has done for me, when I think about how I have encountered him, and he has encountered me, what new road is he calling me to walk? How is my life different? How will I live this new road in 2023?
“Our Father, who art in heaven…”
